Chad, Here's what you do: 1) make sure ignition timing is close to top dead center for starts 2) number one piston is at top of stroke, both valves are closed 3) v-notch on pulley is centered on case halves when rotor is pointed at number one position on dist ( there is a notch on the dist lip as well ) 4) remove air filter and AFM unit 5) open throttle and spray about 2 -3 seconds of quick start into opening. 6) close throttle 7) Have fire extinguisher handy and ready 8) start engine If it starts and runs for a few seconds, you have a fuel delivery problem. Which it sounds like you do. You can check this out by removing the fuel injectors one at a time and cranking the eingine over. ( coil wire detatched from one end) If you have fuel squirting out of the injectors then I would refer to someone else on the list who could help you further. But with proper timing, spark and fuel it should run. Malibu Tony 85' Westy 8 degrees BTDC 37-degrees full advance......only advisable on water cooled only! |
