Where did your "jacket" come from? Mine came from them Cannucks(sp) just Northwest of here. I bought a parka there years ago. The thing lasted 25 years. Gotta hand it to them, they really know how to build them. I like my "jacket" from them. It's just right. Right arm crosses over left. More comfortable that way. Has a series of snaps that allow some comfort adjustment without ever having to release the lock in back. Makes me feel more secure that way.
