ALL engines have weak points..the "fabled" 5.0 ford (302 Windsor) has pressed in rocker studs..you rev it too high? the studs pull out!..simple repair to put threaded ones in..but it's a "fix". The 2.1 rods are a weak point..no real "fix" reported yet Don't get your knickers in a knot over it..just take care of the engine and respect its limits
