The family of Kristin Ann Laurite, the 25-year-old young woman who was brutally murdered and raped in broad daylight at the Arkansas rest stop, is funding the campaign with their own money and privately donated funds. Probably doesn't seem so novel when it's your own daughter.

"America's Most Wanted," as mentioned in the previous post, is helping in the search for clues and witnesses by covering the story which is tentatively set to air February 23, 2001.

For those who don't know the story, and how it originally ended up on the Vanagon list; Kristin was a member of our sister list, the type2 list, and was driving her VW bus from New Jersey to California this past summer where she would have started her new job as a school teacher. She had stopped in the Arkansas rest area to call her mother back in New Jersey and tell her of her progress in the journey. She was raped and murdered in an overgrown area near the rest stop after that call.
