Watch the movie "Jackel" with Bruce Willis. He has a mini van with a unique back glass. It is sectioned with a powered rollup and down center portion. Must be available. Too much R&D for one van in one movie. He used a remote to operate the glass. Would provide for longer loads. Do-able on a Vanagon I would think.
