Subject: thermostat revelation?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

hey all, i replaced my thermostat yesterday that was sticking with an actual vw thermostat. since i put it in the temp now comes up higher then it did with the last tstat that was not opening all the way. so all of the sudden my slight hesitation that was occuring at high rpms has disappeared! is this a coincidence or cause from last tstat? is it possible that the last tstat never let the engine warm up fully and was resulting in the slight hesitations i was experiencing at high rpms? also what are the problems that may occur from not bleeding the cooling system perfectly? i need an extra person to help with this so i may not get to it for a day or two. will it cause the van to run hotter or anything like that? thirdly, where does everyoes needle sit at normal op temp? since i put in the vw tstat (the last one was an after market) the needle is noticeably higher then the led light. my last tstat (before it was sticking)the needle sat a hair above the led light. and now with the vw tstat my fan comes on while driving around town where before it never got that hot. is this a result of the vw tstat keeping temps where it should be as apposed to the old tstat keeping the engine slightly cooler? the vw tstat is an 85 degree c. while the old one was an 87 degree i think. any inputs here? i am glad the hesitations has ceased what ever cured it! thanks jason 90 gl _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
