i realize that. but just pointing it at someone will make them get some distance from you, if you know what i mean. and if i have to use it, well, it would be b/c my safety is at stake and i would do so. living in montana, i have had to spray it in the outdoors before and as long as there is no wind in your face it sprays away from you pretty good that you can be okay from it. but like a gun, just the presence of the canister will make a potential attacker back down. i would rather have this then a gun b/c if i get pulled over and searched, the mace will be a lot easier to explain. jason
