<< I think you give VOA canada to much credit I have a steady flow of engine cores and some of them are VOA remans they are better than they where but the rods are not always resized, they are not always align bored and the cylinders seats >> As a bit of general knowledge..factory rebuilts are NOT necessarily the "cat's meow" of rebuilts..they are "middle of the road" in fact.. One really nifty thing that they do on the WBX is to take the used pistons and fit them to new cylinders...the used pistons are serviceable (ring lands square and all that) but are slightly undersized on the heads/skirts....SOOO they take raw cylinders and bore them to the undersized pistons (cylinders being MUCH cheaper to produce)...Which, I suppose it fine. I got a van real cheap one time where the dealer had put GOOD used pistons in the FR built cylinders and then had to fit a new starter to get the car to crank..the skirts, when cold were already a .0015 interference fit in the bore! The WBX engines are also line bored...great stuff..until you go to rebuild them again..guess what? try to buy oversize bearings ..THEN try to get oversized and UNDERSIZED (reground crank) bearings!!!! I ended up talking with the manager of the rebuild plant in Canada and they could send them to my local dealer..It all worked out, but what a mess!
