Whoa pardner -- seems there may a problem with you trying to use your regular old run of the mill diesel block and the TURBO head -- yes its different -- with different oil galleries and the like. possibly different water passageways matching up with a NA block. Besides the turbo head -- or maybe its the block (been a long time) has special oil squirters for extra cooling of the higher temperature pistons. AND the major goomba -- there's no way your regular NA setup will handle the job without *more* fuel -- your present FI pump will not handle this. The turbo pump has a tower that acts as some sort of vacumm advance/increases fuel pressures under load as necessary. So, why do it halfway? Just get you a good td motor (1.9 would be schweet) and rock and roll.
