It is my impression that the usual symptoms addressed by the capacitor fix involve power loss at high speed after about an hour. Having said that, who knows what happens in the mind of an ECU receiving signals from a deteriorating/poorly designed AFM. The capacitor fix is cheap and fairly simple if you have some soldering skill. Worth a try. An ohm meter check of an AFM does not rule out faulty operation when in use.

Have you checked or replaced the temp sensors?
