Subject: 1985 Vanagon fuel overflow?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello, I'm new to the list and new to Vanagons... Being a lifelong air-cooled guy I have a few things to learn. I recently experienced major fuel spillage when fueling my Vanagon. It seems that when the tank got full and "burped", kicking the pump off, a couple (?) of gallons of gas spilled on the ground underneath the fuel tank. I looked under the van and the fuel appeared to be coming from above the tank...anybody experience this? Any ideas before I pull the tank and begin diagnosis the hard way?
