we got the pictures of our "new" syncro westfalia last night. no rust, one ding, clean, clean, clean, missing one port cover and the center covers of the rear alloys, no rust, no rust, no rust.

surprises: diff lock, power mirrors, power windows, probably power door locks, cb radio, tinted windows, honeywell alarm, and a killer "god bless this camper" sticker between the rear speakers!

we've decided to use a transport company to ship it out here because (a) it's essentially the same cost without the risk, and (b) it gets here a month sooner...

thanks for everyone's help and advice. i'll be asking more soon (i've gotten a bentley and a haynes manual and have been looking through them. i think it was bill davidson who cut his apart and put all the syncro/westy stuff for his year together: an excellent idea!).

bill '87 syncro westy (now we gotta figure a name)
