Subject: 82 Diesel Westy FS maybe!

Anybody interested?

I have an opportunity to go to school in Colorado this summer. If everything works out with the school, I will unfortunately have to sell my 82 Westy sometime between March and May. Yes, I know that is the start of the camping season, but I have been dreaming of this school longer than I have owned the Westy and I can always find another when time and money permits. It is in pretty good shape considering that it is an 82! I still have to install the carpet that I bought for it about a month ago and install a plastic bushing in the shifter rod. It is missing the center plastic piece that covers the lower heater duct in front of the shifter, but I am still looking for a replacement. The cold start cable is broke, but I never replaced it because it starts fine when the temperature is cold outside, even after sitting for weeks at a time. I put in nice seats from my 87 which have the adjutable armrests. I also put in the seatbelts from the 87 because the receptacles have a longer arms and are easier to locate in the dark. It has a JVC CD player in the dash with a 6 speaker system. Pretty good sound for a Vanagon!

The poptop canvas is ripped in the front and has duct tape on it so the skeeters didn't get in this summer. If you are interested in the van, I'll take off some cash so you can get new canvas. They make a nice new one with side screens now. Everything else is in good shape and working.

This Westy used to be my daily driver until I got my Syncro on the road. I averaged about 35 miles to the gallon city driving. It has a current inspection(10/01). The van shows 141,069 miles on it but I do not know if this is accurate. I did not buy it from the origional owner so I don't know about the mileage.

If anybody is interested, please let me know.
