Just when I thought I was getting the hang of this
mechaniching game, here comes a curve ball ! Will
occasionally, especially when it's with the customer, will
crank fast but not start. ECU logged a code PO322 and so I
cranked and started it a dozen times and it starts every
time, mmmmmmmm. Visual ck inside the NEW dizzy cap and
rotor from last visit (for a miss on No 1 cylinder.)found
no problems. Last visit turned out to be a faulty plug cap.
When running, customer complains of brief loss of power.
Primary problem is first thing in the morning cold crank,
no start Scoped the CMP and the CKP with the Vantage and
also watched other parameters on the Retreiver.] There is
zero ( 0%) adaption for fuel or ignition by the adaptive
program in the ECU. Runs strong on the highway and rev's to
cut out under load with no glitches. Besides performing
perfectly for me, this is not right. E-Mail achives list
428 posts for the word..START, and I think that vanagons
take the lead for the worst,in posts about that ! Now, if
any of you fine people out there know anything, don't keep
it to yourself. Tomorrow morning I shall test for start up
again but I think that it's gonna be a crank and fire like
nothing's wrong..... So, what you all think...?? Crank
sensor or distributor ?
