Well, I only know about the conversions from a year of constant list
reading.... I have heard more than a couple times that the subaru eats the
manual trannies. AND I hear from those folks with AT subarus that love the
set-up and quote" made for the AT"....
Tiico/I-4 conversion I hear good reviews from those with the 4-spds, but the
AT owners don't talk much (of course they could be out busy driving). Plus
the higher torque/hp rpm range, I suspect, isn't a great mix with a 5,000 lb
3- sp......
Anyone out there think differently.....?
I was in the market for a short time, but have settled on a partial rebuild
job (which, as I write this, my engine is balance on a jack and the AT
awaits the removal of that final bolt... I'm on a Snickers-break). Better
gas mileage is my goal with a engine transplant job. The power is a nice
bonus..
