Hey everybody, I got the post from Tom Young concerning cheap O2 sensors. So I went to partsamerica.com and looked up some prices. Now I've got some questions. I assume his $19.49 sensor ('81 van) cannot be used in my rig, so I searched by my van make and model ('90 Westy, 2.1L FI), and got Bosch part #13931, listed at $149.99. Then I went back and cross-referenced stuff with items from the Bus Depot web page. I searched for fuel system components, and find Bosch #13913, listed at $39.95. The comments say that this one must have the connector spliced. I search further on the Bus Depot page, and find an O2 sensor with factory plug, Bosch part #13931, listed at $129.99 (the same item I found at partsamerica for my particular van model, only cheaper). Back to partsamerica.com, I search part #13913 and get a Bosch 3-wire Ford heated oxygen sensor listed at $35.99. I'd rather buy the cheaper bosch sensor for Fords (Bosch part #13913), but does this one work the same as the Bosch #13931? How about connecting a single-wire sensor to the existing connection. I know TBD says to splice the connector, but how would I do this, and does it affect how it works in my van? TIA to anyone who can help me out. Mike Korsak '90 Westy - unnamed at this time |
