There are plastic tanks in each wheel well that are part of the vapor recovery/fuel overflow system. Check all the hoses to and from them. Also remove them and check the grommet seal on top. The grommets on mine were hardened and cracked, letting water in when it spashed up in the wheel well. I think you have to get the grommets from the dealer but they were not expensive when I did mine. Be careful with the hoses. Some lead down to the top of the fuel tank and if they are brittle and break, you will have to drop the tank to replace them.
