Definitely go to Yosemite, as it's an incredible place. Leave lots of time to travel to the High Country... I would plan at least 3 days in the park. If possible, make your campground reservations now. Yosemite fills up fast, though September shouldn't be the worse time... providing you go after Labor Day.

I currently live in San Francisco. If I'm here in the fall, I'd love to act as tour guide.
