Subject: Vanagon Diesel Automatic?? Do they exist??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Was there ever a Vanagon made with the Diesel and Automatic trans? I am wondering because I want to do the engine conversion to possibly a 2.0L Golf engine, but I have an Automatic trans. I know that kits are offered that allow you to put these in with an auto, but I do not like having to modify the engine cover and bed hinges. I also know that the Subaru is a good swap and it would fit like stock, but you loose ground clearance. If they made an Auto Diesel Vanagon, that would make everything work good for me. I also want to keep the Auto trans, it makes it better for my wife to drive it. Thanks
