Greetings all, My 85 vanagon had an ignition related no start condition a week or so ago. Thanks to all that responded. I worked through the Bentley ignition troubleshooting procedure and it eventually "healed itself" after replacement of the ignition module with a "nused" unit from my donor-mobile in addition to rotor replacement (new, Bosch). Thoroughly happy with the end result I resumed daily driving. However, this morning, she acted like we were back to square one, grinding the starter w/no results. Thinking that if I kept hitting the starter it would "heal itself" and, lo and behold, as I ground away, it tried to start and with each attempt it hit a little better and eventually cranked and ran...it acted like it was flooded and in the process of clearing out the plugs... Any ideas, y'all? Once again, I can test the whole system (I'm thinking FI now) per Mr.Bentley...but, since you all have the wisdom from having been where I have yet to go, I would like to draw from that resource. Thanks in advance... BTW...do we have any local clubs/list members in the Knoxville TN area?

Greg
