Were there South African Syncro's? Does it snow in SA? That could explain the round headlights, or it could be an 'aftermarket' grill.

Purely guesses.

Hi Matt & other listees,

I was going to post this anyway but I just purchased the latest issue of Automobile Magazine with a great spread and pictures of the the proposed Microbus. There are additional pictures at this site under the Detroit Auto Show.

http://www.automobilemag.com/

On one of the pictures in the magazine (not the web site) it shows the evolution from the Splitty, Bay, Vanagon, Eurovan and this new bus. One of the the picture - the Vanagon (of course) is in the forest on a snowy road. It is a Syncro, but it has round headlights, vintage of the 80-85. I though that all US Syncros came with the square headlights from 86 to 91+. Interesting..... Maybe I'm off in my thinking?

Another site came up this week with futuristic pictures:

Cheers,
