Doing my head gaskets and I have several questions about getting the heads off without taking the cylinders with them: - Any suggestions on how to do it? - Why are they stuck with the head? - Why can't I just pound (gently) on the cylinders to free them from the head? - There is a small groove in the cylinders next to the heads. I think I could pry on this groove to get some force on the heads, but might screw up the cylinders. Is this safe? - Once the cylinders are free from the head, will the slide nicely off and into the engine block?
Thanks for any suggestions. Blake SLC Utah 84 westy |
