FWIW I think a "business card" or flyer with the website is not a bad idea to have to hand to someone who has expressed intrest--or even when they inquire about where I get parts or the like. Not that Vanagon.com is hard to remember, but sometimes it would be nice. I've thought about printing up some cards with the website on it using my computer-just for my personal use--I'm not equipped for massive printing. Not a tough thing to do (and I hope I wouldn't be infringing on any copyrights) for the purpose of handing over to someone interested in the list or finding vendors. But I think it might be best if folks would think twice before slipping unsolicited stuff under people's wipers as I think 90% of that stuff becomes litter. On my car in the last few weeks I've gotten a few Pizza place flyers, some tire store flyer, A VW specific garage--although I'll bet they don't even work on Vanagons, a termite control flyer, and some other stuff I didn't read--and with the exception of the pizza none is of interest to me. I find the trash for it, but many seem to just let it drop. And I think the responsibility for the litter is shared by both the advertiser and the litterer. And maybe us listees don't want to be litterers even if only by association. That's my 2 cents. And it's not meant to put down or throw a wet blanket on a good idea. Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA |
