I have been driving the 87 GL for a couple of weeks now and I must say it is
quite nice.  I have been driving the Mothership, a 79 Bay for so many years,
I had forgotten VW made a smoother ride.

Anyway, I seem to have a snag getting into first gear.  The Bentley inferred
that the problem might be remedied with an adjustment.  If the adjustment
doesn't work they suggest replacing it with the new style shift housing that
was apparently new for the 88 model year.

Have any of you had similar experience to this?

What did you do about it?

Where did you get what you did with as it was needed?

How much did it all cost?
