I stand all amazed at the great folks that live on this list. I have gotten more info than I can digest in a short time regarding hitches for my 81 vanagon. At least there will be a ton of info in the archives :-)

I bought the tent trailer this weekend, and will have it towed to my place while I decide which is the best way to go for a hitch, thanks mostly to all the great advice I received.

I tried to reply to each of you who offered, but frankly, there was so much help, I have no chance of saying thanks to everyone individually. I hope I don't violate netiquitte by simply offering a huge thank you here on the list.

Thank you all very much. When I get it all together, I will lpost how the towing goes and whether I can actually do it without stressing my van too much. (fingers crossed)

I do need to find an oil temp gauge and a tach. Can I attach a temp gauge to the heads to monitor that, or is that not possible/necessary.

Very much indebted to the list for helping me keep my vanagon happy. :-)

Kindest Regards,

John
