Hi Listees,

Been lurking on this list for awhile and figured it was time to give back.

I've got an '85 Westy which the PO had put on unknown tires (to me at least) Le Mans Touring ? Anyhow, when it came time to get new ones,I figured it was either Agilis 61's or Yoko 370's. Well, after calling just about every tire shop in Toronto,I came up empty. It would appear that Michelin is not selling the 61's anymore. At least that's what I concluded from the hemming and hawing from Michelin and dealers. Can you say obfuscation ? The Yoko's were backordered forever.

Finally came to the conclusion that the Dunlop SP LT5's were the only option for me at this time. The camper is now sitting atop 185/75R14's load range D.That's about 1800 lbs per tire ! They also had a C ( 1600 lbs) tire but figured I could live with the harder ride of 60 psi vs. 50 psi.Ended up costing about $100 per tire installed CDN.

After a couple of weeks of city driving, they are a drastic improvement over the previous tires.Virtually no more weaving and bobbing on the highway with severe crosswinds and big rigs aren't so scary to be around anymore ; ) Tread pattern isn't as aggressive as I'd have liked but what can you do ?

I'll post again with a road report after putting a few more km's under her.

Cheers,

Fred Lum 8 )
