Good News!

My engine parts are no longer available. I think I will keep them right where they are. Mark Keller suggested that I start my engine back up and listen a little closer to where the racket was coming from. He suspected the lifters. I started it up, and after warming up it was a lot quieter. I took it around the block, then down the highway. My newly installed VDO gauge shows 35psi at around 2600 rpm. I had to install a relay to change the sender normally open output to a normally closed output that matches the VW .9 bar sensor. (i.e. the switch is off if the oil pressure is correct).

So, my conversion to Subaru power is post-poned. I must confess, I was psyched about a 50% increase in horsepower.

For those of you contemplating the switch, Eurasian Auto, Englewood, Colorado, has a '94 Legacy engine with only 73,00o miles, with the wiring harness pulled, sitting on a pallet for shipping. Their number is (800)944-3215. E-mail: EURASIANFOREIGN@aol.com

Tell Dave you got the info from the list. I already paid for the labor to remove the wiring harness and palletize the engine!

John
