hey all, i have four questiona that have been on my mind lately.

1. should the oil cooler be replaced after installing a new engine? the reason i ask is b/c, i read in bentley that you should replace the oil cooler if engine has had excessive wear with a lot of shavings in oil. well my last engine had minimal shavings, but then breaking-in the new engine, of course i got more shavings. so all this on the same oil cooler, should i replace it?

2. how should you do a compression test. with engine cool, i install my tester in one plug hole, and with coil wire disconnected, i turn over the engine and read the value. is this right? or should i open the throttle all the way when turning over the engine? what is the step by step procedure? incidently my readings were 140+/- all around and this is a brand new rebuilt.

3. is it okay to reuse coolant after draning it to replace water pump and tstat?

4. i have an exhaust leak at the elbow exhaust connection with pipe going to cat. i can see on a cold day moisture steam emitting from this conection. would this cause my co2 to be off, run rich or lean? what else could be off b/c of this?

thanks for any answers to these questions. jason 90gl _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
