Subject: Coolant temperature light
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

All, What is the coolant temperature light trying to tell me? It comes on on cold mornings when the engine is started, and stays lit until the engine is shut off and turned on again. Sometimes underway the light comes on, and again stays on until the engine is shutdown and restarted. Seems like there is a "seal in", keeping the light on...is that so? My temperature gauge indicates a nice cool engine (although this could be way out of calibration, for sure). However, poking my head into the engine compartment seems to confirm this. Also, coolant is right where it should be.

The light's behavior will soon make me take it in stride, and that's not a good thing.

Thanks. Bob 1991 GL East Haddam, CT
