I owned a '74 914 that was hit FIVE times in various places, never badly damaged (until the last time) and every time I was offered more money than it actually cost to fix it. I paid $2500 for the car; hit 1 netted $800, hit 2 netted $1500, hit 3 netted $400, hit 4 netted $550 and hit 6 did her in and only got me $2500 for the total. Luckily I was never hurt in these accidents, mostly people hit the black 914 due to it's low profile, they couldn't see it....now they can't miss the Road Whale !
