as i've mentioned once or twice since appearing on this list, we're buying
an '87 syncro westy (and should have it in about two weeks!).

i was looking at a site that listed the various recalls by model year and
recall, and am wondering:  as a "new" vanagon owner, can i march down to the
local vw dealer and have them check to see if all the recalls were taken
care of?  one of them involves the "reid pressure" in the gastank, and the
fix is to replace the tank and some other parts.  that would be a nice thing
to have done by the dealer.

anyone know about this?
