Thanks to all who offered advice and suggestions. Farmers is not going to total the car and are coughing up $1750 plus $150 for "loss of usage". The repair will run $260, which is about 6hrs labor plus material, and that's without the "brother-in-law" deal. I wanted it back w/o paint, 2 stage primer, sanded to 400grit, with guide coat. I haven't owned a VW yet that didn't spend a little time in primer. Of course those of you with wives know the extra $$$ won't all go to the Vanagon. Ken Hunter 82 Westy 1.9D 84 Jetta 1.5D |
