Stephen, I believe the "V" is the correct TDC mark on the pressure plate. Line it up with the reference pointer you see when you unscrew the plastic cover. Pull the valve cover to be sure both cam lobes for #1 are up. -Dana- > I'm begining to wonder whether I timed it correctly.
