J.C Whitney had a device for this, which I bought years ago for my '90 Westy. Have no idea if it is still available. It was a plastic rod attached to 'u' shaped bracket which was attached to the lic plate door with one of the plate screws at the top. Just swing it out when the door is open and brace the end against the overflow tank or wherever. When not in use it lies flat against the door, with the free end in a plastic clip attached to the other, opposite lic plate screw. Mine has broken a couple of times over the ten years and I have just re-manufactured it so to speak, so it wouldn't be hard to put one together. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew Pollard" <poll7356@UIDAHO.EDU> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2001 4:23 PM Subject: holding liscense plate down while checking oil?
