The Lost Ranger replies:

That's so weird! We had the same experience on our vacation last summer. We'd driven our '89 Carat from our home in Low Prospects, North Carolina to Helenback, Kansas. Heard there were some sizzlin' night spots there.

While we were there I tried to ford some river--Styx, I think it was--and suddenly the thing overheated. Fortunately, I was towing the '85 Westy for a spare. Of course it melted, too. Left us contimplating certain old adages about creeks and paddles.

Haven't had the problem since we began staying home and riding bicycles. At least the vehicle hasn't overheated.
