Subject: Do some years rust more than others? Thoughts on a winter Syncro
Content-Type: text/plain

Right now Pokey is snug in a garage awaiting spring, she's pretty much rust free and I want her to stay that way. I had her Rust Checked and undercoated right before I put her away in the fall.

Regretably, storing your Westy puts you into a winter full of Vanagon withdrawl. For this and other reasons, I have always wanted to get a Syncro, which I'm sure would be a great winter vehicle.

The thing is Ontario uses a lot of salt on the roads, so I'm worried about spending $20,000 on a Syncro Westy and having it rust away on me. I was wondering if VW changed thier rustproofing technique at any point during production? Are there any model years that are better than others?
