Karl, I would recommend getting from Bus Boys the Elring-Curil Products T (Head gaskets) and K2 (Same stuff that VW used originally on case and other parts) and use them and NOT the Dirko in the kit. Use it for the one side of the valve covers.

The Dirko is Elring's Third Level sealant...

Put sealant on all parts that you do not want to leak.

I have @40,000 miles on the T sealant on my heads with no leaks.
