When i found out what Berg short shift kit was i decided it wasn't enough for me and moved the whole shifter assembly back by 8" and made a spacer similar to Berg. After installing and small adjustment, shifter is where it should have been in the first place, no need to lean forward, has short throws and very comfortable plus opens a lot of room in front for nice console or drink shelf. Took 4 hours to do and well worth it. Leon 85 Subwagen Westy
