       With all the messages about 2.1 engine bearings being unobtainable and 
that coupled with a few e-mail requests for them I went looking around here.  
Local UAP has two sets of standard size, "red code", ones.  $142 CND.  What's 
up with the "red code", "blue code" thing ?  He says his books show no 
listing for the "blue code" ones.  Bentley says check the crank.  Local VW 
dealer says there's a colour marking on the back of the pistons, that seems 
strange !  So what's the real skinny here !  These bearings that my local UAP 
has are for direct replacement of the original standard size bearings, not 
line bored oversize ones.  If anyone needs these bearings let me know.  Only 
two sets available as of yesterday.  Price is $142 CND plus shipping to your 
location.
