While jumping into my sap out on a Boston Bob long block, i decided to test my new temp sender forthe gauge by boiling a big pot of water and then turning on the ignition circuit so power went to the gauge cluster and then dip the new sender into the boiling water and see where the needle ended up. Well, having not tested the old one, i can say that an approximate water temp of 212 degrees(not allowing for the 4-500' of elevation above sea level) reads on my 90 GL gauge as about one needle-width above the red blinking light. YMMV Prolly just a glorified Djitool, but the Halmeter that is spozed to tune my new FI system came with it's own O-2 sensor, so it's threaded boss got welded and drilled n the new Stebro J-pipe. My question is, the instructions say to wire the meter to the proper plus and minus conections up by the dash(going to run the led gauge permanently right under the speedo) and of course the trigger wire to the O2 sensor, bbut the O2 sensor has a black wire and two white ones. Question is this. If the black wire is the trigger wire to the gauge, does it matte which of the white wires gets hooked up to pos. and which goes to negative? Maybe calling Haltech on this one tomorrow! I have one wire pre-routed from engine to dash and wondering if I need to run two more or whether I can just wire the ground and 12v(ignition on activated) back in the engine compartment somewhere and save the hassle of runing more wires through the van.
