I was quoted $40 CDN last week at bow wow (www.bowwow.ca) not sure of the
brand but the price sounds good. he said that the newer 3 wire O2 sensors
were about $200(?)

Chad,
Have you checked your throttle position switch(es)? Also check your spark
plugs and wires. I've been going through the same sort of problem. Mine is
pretty much gone since I went through all the stuff that you did, checked
the plugs and wires, replaced the O2 sensor, and wrapped a big piece of duct
tape around the outlet on my mashed AFM.
Order a new Bosch O2 sensor fron Ron at the Bus Depot. If you don't know
how old it is it could be a problem.
I can't figure out why Bosch would manufacture something under a different
name and sell it for less.

checked and cleaned the AFM, made sure there were no air leaks, replaced air
filter, and put in a new Temp II sensor. After all this it did idle better
and run well. When it was causing all the problems it happened to be very
wet outside, eiter wet snow or lots of rain. I assumed it must be an
electrical connection somwhere. Well today the hesitation started again
(crappy here today.....wet, snow etc.) I immediatly pulled over and heard
the engine stumble and run bady. I then disconnected the O2 sensor and all
is well again. Could it in fact be a screwed O2 sensor or the wire that
connects it to the ECU???? I'm not sure of the age of the sensor.
Also, upon pricing a new sensor I got some different results. The dealer
here (Ont Canada) wants $140 for a new one. The local autoparts store has
one in stock for $50. It is not a Bosch but he says is made by Bosch under
the name "Neumo" (or something like that). The list vendors want ~$30US.
What should I do.
Lastly, is it bad to be driving the van with the O2 sensor disconnected????
thanks,
Chad
