Hi Brian, I just read your latest post about your oil pressure warning without having read what repairs were performed and why but here is my spin. 1) You should not be getting a low oil pressure warning at any time with a newly assembled motor! 15-30W oil is fine for winter and the initial duty you subjected the motor to. If you have a transplanted 2.1L then there are two oil pressure sensing switches sending to different pressure signals to the Dynamic oil pressure warning system in the instrument cluster. They are the 0.3bar & 0.9bar switches. The 0.3B swt is monitored under 2,000 RPM & the 0.9B swt is monitored over 2,000 RPM. I don't know if you have a Dynamic oil pressure warning system fault or not but you should NOT be getting a low pressure warning at hot idle. I wrote a check procedure for this warning system and I can send you a copy if you like. 2) since you seem to have a transplant youe studder on acceleration could be anything. I would suggest that in addition to the "basics" I would check the air flow meter signal in the problem RPM range. 3) As for the idle stabilizer system, the original 2.1L has a stablizer control module behind the right tail light and it should be connected AND functioning. If the hot engine idle speed is below specification, the hot oil pressure will also be lower................ Regards, John |
