in real terms, and in philosophical terms, what is "worth"? or
"value"? of what "value" or "worth" is a newborn baby? absolutely
none. can't do anything with it; all it does is eat and poop and cry.
maybe a laugh sometimes, usually because of gas. can't talk with it,
or ask it how it feels. and it costs a LOT of money to keep one in
food and pampers and medicine/doctors and it takes a LOT of your time
to keep track of it and keep it out of trouble. was it REALLY worth an
investment of nine months of someone's life and health, not to mention
all the food and medicine/doctors and all that for the mother?
it's what you get out of them later in life that counts.
same thing with vanagons: it's what you get out of them after you buy
them that matters. the money is incidental ... you'd spend it on
something else, most likely.
but just as having/raising children isn't for everyone (especially
those of you who are not married!), so, too, vw buses are not for
everyone. sometimes it takes a while to figure this out. kinda like
some jobs ... you try them and decide for yourself whether you want
to do this the rest of your life or not. sometimes you decide
correctly ... sometimes not. Life is a crap-shoot. you do the best you
can. you can only live one life at a time ... and only drive one car
at a time. ;)
so you might as well REALLY like the car you're driving. and if you
do, then the rest (fixing it and cursing at it and all that wonderful
stuff that comes with vw buses) is just icing on the cake. :)
> In real world sane terms, absolutely not ..
i'd really like someone to tell me exactly when the 'real world'
became 'sane'. as far as i've been able to tell, it never has been
'sane'!!!! the only sanity in this world is in the fantasies that
people have ... cause all you have to do is watch the television news
or read the newspaper, and all you've see is insanity in its myriad
forms. :( face it, folks ... humans are NOT sane animals. not even
close to it.
unca joel.
was that Eglin, IL or Elgin, IL?? and can i get a private room? away
from all you crazies? :)
