I have recently rebuilt my 83.5 WBX and have had a horrible experience. After starting the engine last night I made some preliminary adjustments with the timing and coolant and went to bed thinking that I would have the van ready by the next afternoon. Got up the next morning and fired her up and discovered a big giant leak coming from the front oil seal. Lots of oil pouring out at the transmission/engine join. After coming to terms with what this ment I got to work and took the engine out, removed the clutch and discovered that the front oil seal was protruding out of the case. I had installed it correctly so it would fit flush with the case. Could this be an oil pressure relief plug issue? Too heavy oil (20-50)? Before I install a new seal I would like to know what could cause this. Can anyone give me some ideas. Thanks Michael 83.5 WBX |
