I still see the Kelly Blue Book values being used from time to time on the list. Have any of you actually had banks use Kelly to "value" a vanagon for loan purposes or have a insurance company use Kelly for estimating value for replacement? I'm in the midwest and I've not found any insurance companies that use anything but NADA values and I've only found one bank loan officer who has even heard of Kelly Blue Book. Everyone I've found uses NADA which are way lower for estimates on Vanagons than Kelly. Tried to buy a mint 87 westy syncro last fall for $17,500 and the banks (all of em in my town) appraised its value at around $5,500. Of course that means you have to come up with a lot of cash...... Any thoughts out there?? Bob 84 beautiful westy valued at $3,000! |
