I would like to tap the collective knowledge of the list...... Now that I'm on my third Vanagon, it's painfully obvious that the stock headlights are awful (compared to my '94 GMC pickup!). I'm kind of limited for two reasons. First finances (my apologies to the Dave Marshall, but those 'E' code headlights are pricey!), and second having a '91 with the fiberglass bumpers (which finally I have a van where they aren't cracked or peeling), there is no way in h*ll I'm going to drill holes in them. As for the South African grille, I really don't like the look, and want to keep the van stock looking. So, I'm thinking the Projektzwo driving lights that Ken Wilford sells (though again pricey), or mounting a set of rectangular Hellas from under the bumper (drilling through the metal valance, not the bumper). My concern is that most every installation of driving lights that I see on the Vanagon involve having them mounted on top of the bumper. If I mount the lights below, am I limiting their usefulness? (Will I not get the results that I'm looking for). Your input is appreciated. Scott '91 Vanagon Carat Blueblue |
