Hi John, I've just had an episode with the pilot bearing in the end of the crankshaft. I changed the clutch about 60,000 ago now the pilot bearing is seizing to the input shaft so you cannot shift. I would certainly change this $12 bearing next time I removed the transaxle. J.R.
