With the first series of Transporters (49-79) the Kombi was a basic van with cargo-bay windows and built-in rear seat mounts; no side/roof upholstery. Panelvan had no side cargo bay windows and some had no rear window either; no rear seat mounts. Microbus/Samba had side and door trim panels, with full headlining, some with extra windows in rear sides, rear corners and/or roof.

Exactly what a T3 (Type 25) Kombi is, I'm not sure, but it's likely to be equivalent to the early vans.
