Subject: Help, GL wont start!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello Folks, Here my problem, while on a lunch break today, i drove out to a local restaurant to pick up some food, My 88 GL was running fine. Turned it off to go get my to-go order. Got back in the van and it wouldn't start! I thought I'd flooded it so I let it sit for a while and then tried cranking it, to no avail. A couple of things occurred to me, one my gas gauge read a bit under 1/4 tank, so I thought I had enough fuel. I could not hear the fuel pump, so I though everything was ok. I continued to crank on it till the battery went flat. Thinking I ran the fuel tank dry and my gas gauge was lying to me, I called a friend, and got some gas. Hooked up the jumper cables, but the van still wont start. If I ran it dry, what do I need to do to re pressurize the system again? Any other ideas on what the problem could be? And, Yes, Im getting spark to the plugs. I had no other warning signs and no other problems leading up to this, Im baffled. Thanks, Steve in Vancouver, WA 88' GL 2- 77' MG Midgets!
