I have the display assemblies from a Beckman Scintillation counter -- they are amazing. Each one is about 1 1/2 x 2 1/4 x 5 (inches) and has twelve miniature bayonet pilot lamps at the back (currently #44, which is a 6.3v bulb). It has an optical system with four lenses for each lamp, and it projects any of twelve images onto a frosted screen at the front. The images are on a convex plastic film/stencil placed immediately in front of the third lens-plate from the lamps. The modules look as though they cost $100 each...

Any interest? You could fake the curvature with individual little flat pieces -- but the image cells are only about 3/4 cm -- not inch -- square. There are also positions provided for placing little colored filters in the beam. The "ground glass" screen is a long strip that passes in front of the whole assembly, but I could cut pieces from it.

I really hate to ditch these things, but I don't have a use for them myself (I might keep one). Talk to me -- they're going on the street Monday night.
